Lenovo has shared its line of ThinkPad laptops at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2015, and theres a new ThinkPad stack system meant to enterprise mix and match units for mobile solutions.

ThinkPad Laptops Refreshed
The ThinkPad line has two flagship Ultrabooks in Lenovos offerings, and both are getting updated for 2015. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is one of the most portable 14-inch laptops, and couples a high-resolution touch screen (optional) with a thin and light rugged case (0.73 inches, 2.9 pounds).

Power Bridge is a dual battery system that allows the user to configure it on the fly for maximum battery life or lowest weight.
There are four ThinkPads in the 450 series, the T450s, T450, E450, and the L450. The T450s is a 14-inch laptop that is larger than the two flagship models noted above (0.83 inches, 3.5 pounds).

Lenovo addresses those who prefer a large screen with the T550. This is configurable with either a 15.6-inch display or a 15.5-inch high-resolution display (2880 x 1620). It comes with up to 16GB of memory, up to a TB of HDD (or 512GB SSD).
The E ThinkPad line has two laptops, the E550 and the E450. The E550 packs a 15.6-inch display while the E450 is another 14-inch model. Google Keyboard v3 2 is out with 8 new languages
Google just released Android 5.0. Lollipop, but the company isn’t having any breaks as the latest Google Keyboard is now available with several new languages and a new settings menu.

The new languages include Bengali (India), Hindi (Compact), Kannada (India), Malayalam (India), Marathi (India), Tamil (India), Tamil (Singapore), and Telugu (India). Google has made the settings menu more organized by sorting the different options into categories.
The Google Keyboard should also be less buggy, but as far as new functionality goes, that’s about it. You can also grab the .apk of the latest Google Keyboard by following the link below.

Tweetbot for iPhone updated for iOS 8 and iPhone 6
Tweetbot, the most popular third party Twitter client for iOS, has been updated for the new iOS 8 as well as the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
The list of iOS 8 related improvements include lockscreen notification shortcuts, where you can now slide notifications on the lockscreen to access additional functions, interactive notifications that pop down from the top and lets you reply instantly without leaving your current app, and sharing sheet support for sharing via Tweetbot.
Those using the app on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will notice that the app makes better use of the bigger displays by showing additional content.
Of course, all of this is limited to the iPhone app only. The iPad app hasn’t even been updated for iOS 7 even after a year because the developers are just lazy like that.

Microsoft Windows Phone 8 1 Denim update to ‘roll out soon’
Microsoft has revealed its next big Windows Phone update is nearly ready, codenamed ‘Denim’.

The firm’s Lumia Twitter page responded to a fan that enquired as to why the update still hadn’t landed, despite promises for a Q4 2014 launch.
The post read: “It will roll out soon following testing and operator approvals.”
New features expected to ship with the software update include improved Cortana functionality, as well as 4K video support.
There’s no telling when Microsoft is actually going to release the update however, with the ‘roll out soon’ tip frustratingly vague.
Whatever the case, the Windows Phone moniker for Microsoft’s mobile operating system is running out of time.
At an unspecified time next year, Microsoft plans to drop Windows Phone entirely, instead opting for the Windows 10 tag across all platforms.
Microsoft’s platform-unified Windows 10 will bring a one-for-all app store and better cross-device functionality.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the big Windows 10 change-up will happen either, although we’re expecting a pseudo-unveiling at Microsoft’s Build conference in the middle of 2015.
Other features of the new unified OS include desktop-friendly Cortana and the return of the Smart Menu.

Nokia Lumia 2020 tablet with 8-inch display to launch in Q1 2014

Nokia is probably busy pushing out its recently announced Lumia 2520 tablet globally. However, a new report suggests that the Finnish manufacturer might unveil its next tablet, the alleged Lumia 2020, as early as Q1 next year.According to a report by Digitimes citing sources familiar with the matter, Nokia has plans to expand its tablet portfolio by launching a new tablet, the Lumia 2020, and that the company would be targeting the mid-range tablet segment with it, while it targets the high-end with the Lumia 2520.
Nokia announced its first Windows RT tablet, the Lumia 2520, at Nokia World in October. The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet runs Windows RT 8.1 and comes with a 10.1-inch full-HD IPS LCD display that boasts of enhanced sunlight legibility and a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen.
Earlier reports had suggested that Nokia might launch the rumoured Lumia 2020 at MWC 2014 alongside the Lumia 1820 Windows Phone.
Prolific tipster, @evleaks has already revealed that Nokia has codenamed Illusionist its second Windows RT tablet sporting an 8-inch tablet.
The Nokia Lumia 2020 aka Illusionist is thought to sport a similar design to the Lumia 2520 tablet, and that it would come with a lower Lumia model number to differentiate it from the larger 10.1-inch sibling. Further, the Nokia Lumia 2020 is said to be powered by a Qualcomm processor, would run Windows RT 8.1, just like the Lumia 2520 tablet and in addition would come with stylus support.
Earlier speculation had pointed to a Lumia 2320 name for the more affordable Illusionist tablet, similar to naming scheme of the two announced phablets from the company, the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520.

Hisense Sero 8 review
Key Features: 8-inch, 1,280 x 720 screen; Android 4.4.2; 16GB storage; microSD
Manufacturer: Hisense

What we have here is yet another budget Android tablet with an 8-inch screen. Produced by Chinese firm Hisense – a bigger name in Australia than it is here in the UK – the Sero 8 is being launched alongside the Sero 5, the companys attempt to crack the increasingly crowded low-cost smartphone sector. The Sero 8 packs in a 1,4GHz quad-core chipset, a bright, colourful screen, front and rear cameras and the ability to expand its 16GB of storage, and all for just £70.
Despite its all-plastic build, the Sero 8 doesnt feel cheap and nasty. The casing is solid and doesnt creak under pressure, and the textured rear panel helps improve grip.
Aside from the volume rocker – which is situated on the right-hand edge of the device when held in portrait orientation – all of the Sero 8s other buttons and ports are located on the top edge. This includes the power button, 3.5mm headphone socket, MicroSD card slot and Micro USB port.
Theres quite a large bezel surrounding the tablets screen, and this makes it feel rather wide when compared to some of the smaller Android slates weve seen lately. It also makes it somewhat difficult to grip the device in one hand if you possess exceptionally small paws.
The screen itself has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, which means that close-up text looks a little blocky. On the plus side, its bright and boasts decent colour reproduction. Viewing angles – so often an issue with cheaper slates – are also impressive. No matter how you twist and turn the tablet in your hands, the image remains rock-steady. The only issue is that deep blacks have a tendency to look brighter when viewed at a share angle.
Its taken a while, but hardware manufacturers are finally seeing the benefit of equipping their devices with "stock" Android. What this means is the version of Android installed on tablets like the Sero 8 is largely untouched; companies like Samsung, Sony and LG are fond of covering Googles OS with custom user interface skins and loading them up with "bloatware" apps that no one uses but cannot be removed. Devices with custom skins usually have to wait longer for software updates, too.
The Sero 8 is mercifully free of both manufacturer interference and pointless applications. In fact, aside from Hisenses TV remote app (which only works with WiFi-ready televisions) and a custom video player, the only other pre-installed item is Kingsoft Office, which can be uninstalled if you so wish.
As a result, youre essentially getting a tablet running Android 4.4.2, which is close to Googles own Nexus line -- "pure" Android devices which run the operating system as its creator intended.
While the Sero 8 is more than capable of standing toe-to-toe with many of its more expensive Android rivals in almost every other regard, its clear that corners have been cut when it comes to power. The Sero 8 uses a Rockchip RK3188T quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz, and its noticeably slower than the likes of the Nexus 7 (2013), Nvidia Shield Tablet and LG G-Pad 8.3.
General tasks are swift enough, but when theres a lot going on in tandem the device becomes noticeably sluggish. Even moving around the home screens is a rather jerky affair, and not as smooth as weve seen on Googles Nexus line. Its by no means a deal breaker and in general the experience is still perfectly acceptable, but its worth noting that for a little more cash you can pick up a slate with a bit more processing strength.
Gaming on the Sero 8 isnt as bad as we were anticipating, given the slightly slow hardware. Intense 3D titles like Ridge Racer Slipstream and RoboCop ran well enough, with erratic frame rates rearing their ugly heads only occasionally. Less demanding 2D games – such as the critically acclaimed Monument Valley – run buttery-smooth.
Cameras on tablets are still something of a Marmite feature, with some leading devices even going as far as to remove the rear-facing snappers entirely. The Sero 8 comes with a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera, neither of which produce images of any note. Theyre fine for video calling or posting pictures up on social networks, but they wont have you shelving your dedicated digital camera any time soon.
The Sero 8 comes with a 4,000mAh battery that, according to the manufacturer, is good for 7 hours of web surfing and 4 hours of HD video. Our tests show that in reality, the device actually comes in slightly below those figures.
A combination of general activities – browsing the web, replying to emails, watching YouTube and playing games – drained the battery in less than 5 hours. By Android tablet standards, thats quite poor. If youre a heavy user, you can expect to charge the Sero 8 on an almost daily basis.
Theres 16GB of storage included on the device, with 12.55GB being available to the end user. Thats going to fill up pretty quickly if youre downloading games, apps, movies and music, but thankfully its possible to introduce additional space using the MicroSD card slot, located on the top edge. The Sero 8 will accept cards of up to 32GB in size, and these arent expensive.
If youre counting the pennies and cant stretch to one of the pricier Android tablets, then the Sero 8 is worth considering. While its underpowered compared to rival 8-inch slates, it offers incredible value for money given the low asking price and is competent enough.
That said, we’d recommend looking at other options first. The Asus Memo Pad 7 has a faster processor and much better battery life and is now available for a similar price. Moreover, if you have enough Tesco Clubcard points then you can buy the vastly superior Tesco Hudl 2 for just £65. Indeed, even at its standard £129 asking price we’d recommend saving up for it if you can.
A competent ultra-cheap tablet, but there are better ones if you can find the best deals.

Nokia World 2011 brought us the first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices from Nokia and now maybe it’s time to start looking for the first Windows 8 tablet made by the Finns. This could be a slate that looks like the device pictured below, a mere render of a tablet inspired by the Nokia N9.

Nokia must be careful here not to make the same mistake it did when trying to enter the market of netbooks. The Nokia Booklet 3G failed miserably because of the price and I really can’t see a solid reason for its purchase. Since Nokia is all about Microsoft these days, why wouldn’t they also join hands in the tablet field?
I know that MS has been trying long and hard to come up with an iPad rival… Thus, now that the Steve Jobs official biography revealed that the iPad was in fact an idea started to tease Microsoft, the Redmond giant has all the reasons to retaliate and the hardware coming from Nokia to be able to do so.

Mlais will launch 8 cores Smartphones this year

Mlais is a phablet phone manufacturer famous for its Samsung inspired models.
The Chinese firm has just posted a development PCB with the 8 cores chip, MT6592 and is announcing launching devices sporting such a chip by the end of this year.
So another company has just joined the dance among Jiayu, Xiaocai, Zopo or THL.
In Antutu, the MT6592 has scored around 20 000 - 25 000 which is high end 2013 devices scores. Budget SoC and excellent performances ? Sure looking that way.
