Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Selfie Focused Smartphone Launched at Rs 15 499


Samsung on Tuesday has officially launched the Galaxy Grand Prime in India at Rs. 15,499.
Samsung is touting the device for its 85 degree wide angle lens on the 5-megapixel front facing camera, while there is an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera also onboard.
"Galaxy Grand Prime opens a whole new world of premium mobile experience for consumers looking at uninterrupted entertainment and multi-tasking on-the-go. Introducing the new trend of Groupfie, Galaxy Grand Prime features an advanced wide angle front camera best-suited to capture group images. With the launch of this power packed smartphone, we are further strengthening our Grand portfolio," said Asim Warsi, Vice President, Marketing, Mobile and IT at Samsung India.
The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) Galaxy Grand Prime runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and pack a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) PLS TFT display. The smartphone features a 1.2GHz quad-core (unknown chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Grand Prime includes 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support (up to 64GB). On the connectivity front the smartphone includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS and 3G. The smartphone will feature a 2600mAh battery. It measures 144.8x72.1x8.6mm and weighs 156 grams.
On Monday, the established Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom on a Facebook post suggested the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime would launch at Rs. 15,250 (MRP of Rs. 16,000).

Google Nexus 7 2013 tablet finally launched in India starting from Rs 20 999

Googles latest Nexus 7 tablet is now officially available in India via the Play Store. The Nexus 7 (2013) tablet starts at Rs. 20,999 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, while the 32GB Wi-Fi only model is available at Rs. 23,999, and the 32GB Wi-Fi + 3G (HSPA+, LTE) model at Rs. 27,999.The Google Nexus 7 (2013) 16GB Wi-Fi only tablet would be available only after November 26, as the Play Store listing clearly says, "Leaves warehouse by November 26, 2013." However, both the Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB models will be shipped in up to two business days, claims the Play Store listing. Google globally announced the Nexus 7 (2013) tablet in July this year, and it was the first device running Android 4.3. Interestingly, the Nexus 7 (2013) tablets are still shipping with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, though the update should be available over the air.

It also features scratch-resistant Corning glass. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, and features 2GB of RAM. The tablet comes in two storage variants 16GB and 32GB, with no expandable storage. The new Nexus 7 also features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Nexus 5 is available in two variants - the 16GB model at Rs. 28,999, and the 32GB variant at Rs. 32,999. Google globally announced the Nexus 5 on November 1, after months of speculation and anticipation.

Uber premium on demand cab ride service launched in Bangalore and New Delhi.

Uber is an innovative cab ride or Taxi service that lets users check the cabs nearest to them from its mobile app. The taxi service gives you a unique service so you dont have to book your cab in advance or wait till the last minute for driver confirmation. Uber has introduced a share my ETA feature that allows users to track the car in real time via the Uber App. Users can also share the car and driver information with your friends or family making the ride even more secure.

I personally tried their taxi service from New Delhi railway station and got a cab instantly from the mobile app. The premium taxi service gives you comfortable rides in the coolest cars like Camry, Honda Accord, Mercedes, etc and that too in a regular price of a Meru or Quick cab. The price of the cab are starting Rs 200 for a minimum ride or Rs 20 per kilometer and Rs 2 per minute.

LG G3 Beat With Laser Autofocus Camera Launched at Rs 25 000


The LG G3 Beat, which went up for pre-order last week at an Indian e-commerce website, has now been officially launched at Rs. 25,000. The handset is however not yet listed on the companys India website.
Initially announced in July, the LG G3 Beat features the same Floating Arc Design as seen on the LG G3 (Review | Pictures), with smooth curved sides and gradually tapered edges. The highlight of the G3 Beat is its 8-megapixel rear camera which comes with the Laser Autofocus sensor seen on the G3, while there is a 1.3-megapixel front camera as well.
As the LG G3s mid-tier variant, the G3 Beat comes with a 5-inch IPS display offering 294ppi pixel density. The company has dropped the screen resolution from QHD (1440x2560 pixel) on LG G3 to the considerably lower HD (720x1280 pixel) resolution on the LG G3 Beat.
The smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box, much like the G3, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clubbed with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage with microSD card expansion and is backed by a 2540mAh battery.
Some of the preloaded software features from the flagship on the G3 Beat include Touch and Shoot, which allows a touch anywhere on the display to focus and shoot; Gesture Shot, which begins automatic three-second countdown before the picture is snapped by just a hand gesture; Smart Keyboard, and QuickMemo+, LGs overhauled note taking app.
Connectivity options on the LG G3 Beat include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Micro-USB, 3G and 4G LTE support. The phone measures 137.7x69.6x10.3mm and weighs 134 grams. It is available in Metallic Black, Silk White, and Shine Gold colour variants.
The LG G3 Beat is currently available to buy in Gold, Silk White and Metallic Black colour variants.

Nokia Windows 8 Tablet To Be Launched

Nokia World 2011 brought us the first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices from Nokia and now maybe it’s time to start looking for the first Windows 8 tablet made by the Finns. This could be a slate that looks like the device pictured below, a mere render of a tablet inspired by the Nokia N9.

Nokia must be careful here not to make the same mistake it did when trying to enter the market of netbooks. The Nokia Booklet 3G failed miserably because of the price and I really can’t see a solid reason for its purchase. Since Nokia is all about Microsoft these days, why wouldn’t they also join hands in the tablet field?

I know that MS has been trying long and hard to come up with an iPad rival… Thus, now that the Steve Jobs official biography revealed that the iPad was in fact an idea started to tease Microsoft, the Redmond giant has all the reasons to retaliate and the hardware coming from Nokia to be able to do so.
