Microsoft Unleashes First Lumia Phone Without Nokia Brand
The first Lumia Phone by Microsoft without the label Nokia is great departure. Microsoft comes out with a new chapter in branding and mobile devices.
Microsoft launches Lumia 535 on Monday, its first Lumia phone by dumping the brand label Nokia. In April, 2014 Microsoft bought the brand Nokia in a $7.2 billion deal and got the authority to launch new Lumia phones on its own, and also allowed to keep the brand name Nokia for a short period of time.
This new Lumia device runs on Windows 8.1, the latest mobile operating system by Microsoft. It possesses a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and has a great picture display with a 5-inch and 960x540 pixel density.
Microsoft still awaits for the jump-start as the operating system still holds only just 2.5% stake in mobile devices across the world. In comparison, Googles Android runs on more than 85% of mobile devices across the world.
Microsoft has already sold 9.3 million Lumia phones in this quarter, its almost 5.6% above the Lumia phones sold in the previous one.

Nokia is probably busy pushing out its recently announced Lumia 2520 tablet globally. However, a new report suggests that the Finnish manufacturer might unveil its next tablet, the alleged Lumia 2020, as early as Q1 next year.According to a report by Digitimes citing sources familiar with the matter, Nokia has plans to expand its tablet portfolio by launching a new tablet, the Lumia 2020, and that the company would be targeting the mid-range tablet segment with it, while it targets the high-end with the Lumia 2520.
Nokia announced its first Windows RT tablet, the Lumia 2520, at Nokia World in October. The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet runs Windows RT 8.1 and comes with a 10.1-inch full-HD IPS LCD display that boasts of enhanced sunlight legibility and a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 screen.
Earlier reports had suggested that Nokia might launch the rumoured Lumia 2020 at MWC 2014 alongside the Lumia 1820 Windows Phone.
Prolific tipster, @evleaks has already revealed that Nokia has codenamed Illusionist its second Windows RT tablet sporting an 8-inch tablet.

Nokia World 2011 brought us the first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices from Nokia and now maybe it’s time to start looking for the first Windows 8 tablet made by the Finns. This could be a slate that looks like the device pictured below, a mere render of a tablet inspired by the Nokia N9.
Nokia must be careful here not to make the same mistake it did when trying to enter the market of netbooks. The Nokia Booklet 3G failed miserably because of the price and I really can’t see a solid reason for its purchase. Since Nokia is all about Microsoft these days, why wouldn’t they also join hands in the tablet field?
I know that MS has been trying long and hard to come up with an iPad rival… Thus, now that the Steve Jobs official biography revealed that the iPad was in fact an idea started to tease Microsoft, the Redmond giant has all the reasons to retaliate and the hardware coming from Nokia to be able to do so.
