Samsung to launch Galaxy S5 with iris scanner by April

A VP at Samsung has confirmed the company will be launching its latest smartphones flagship, the Galaxy S5, by April. The executive vice president of mobile business at Samsung - Lee Young Hee - has shed some light on companys future plans about the Galaxy S5 flagship.
Just like its Galaxy S4 predecessor, Samsung is once again targeting March for the official announcement and April for the release date for the Galaxy S5. This means the manufacturer wont be bringing any flagship phones on the upcoming MWC in Barcelona next month.
Since the Galaxy S5 is going against Apples latest iPhone 5s and in the meantime it should be prepared for the upcoming iPhone 6, Samsung is considering a fingerprint sensor and an iris scanner options. Thus it will not only catchup with the competition but will go way ahead of it. According to Mrs. Lee, the company is exploring its options, so this is no guarantee the iris recognition technology will make it to the Galaxy S5 in time for release.
A brand new design is going to be one of the Galaxy S5 key features. Samsung has acknowledged the users werent impress at all with the Galaxy S4 reused design and thats why the company has gone "back to the basics" and created its new flagship from scratch. Here is what Lee Young Hee is saying about the new design:

"When we moved to S4 from S3, it’s partly true that consumers couldn’t really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasnt as big. For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, its about the display and the feel of the cover."
Meanwhile gossip also has it that Samsung is working on a three-sided display for the Galaxy Note 3 successor. The innovative screen will let you see various notifications on the sides of your phone. Samsung has already demonstrated similar technology before, so it wont be a surprise if we actually see it implemented in the next flagship phablet. All this new technology also has a downside however and in this case it is the higher cost. Mrs. Lee confirms: "We are targeting consumers who want more professional use and tend to be willing to pay more for handsets".
Finally, Mrs. Lee unveiled Samsung is working on a second generation wearable device to replace the Galaxy Gear. It will add more functionality (especially health-related) and reduce the bulkiness. It will premiere with the Galaxy S5.
So, with most of these coming straight from Samsung, its almost certain to come out true. So if you ever worried that Samsungs well of innovation is starting to dry up, you dont have to anymore.

Twin boys stabbed to death by their brother who then killed himself

9 year old twin brothers Patrick and Thomas ODriscoll were stabbed to death yesterday September 4th by their older half brother Jonathan, 20, who then killed himself about an hour later. Read the full story below...

Nine-year-old Patrick and Thomas O’Driscoll were dressed in their school uniforms when found dead in separate bedrooms by their younger brothers, aged three and five.
Their half-sibling Jonathan, 20, sped from the scene in Charleville, Co Cork, and was discovered hanged 15km away.
The tragic boys’ parents Tom and Ellen were shopping in nearby Kilmallock, Limerick, at the time.A security source told the Irish Mirror : “It was a frenzied attack, the boys were stabbed multiple times. It’s understood there are psychological issues involved.”
Other sources last night claimed Jonathan was adopted before the O’Driscolls later went on to have the twins.
The nine-year-olds, who were being minded by older sibling Jonathan, died in separate bedrooms hours after he collected them from school.
Their bloodied bodies were found shortly before 5pm by their younger brothers, aged three and five.
The toddlers then raced from the home and began screaming for help through a neighbour’s hedge. As a major emergency operation swung into action, Jonathan, 20, fled the scene.
He was found hanged from a tree by a riverbank in nearby Buttevant, an hour later.
The scene at the family home was last night described as horrific.
One source said: “Those poor little boys suffered a shocking death.”
Last night, the events leading to the shocking double killing remained unclear – but sources said the killer must have “just snapped”.
A next-door neighbour who raised the alarm said: “We were at home at about 5pm and the two young lads came over to the hedge.
“They were screaming at the top of their voices. They were roaring for my dad. We rang the [police] straight away.”
Schoolboys Patrick and Thomas – members of the settled Traveller community – were described by a neighbour as “a pair of rascals”.
Relatives were too distraught to comment last night.
Jonathan was minding the two boys while their parents were six miles away in Kilmallock, Co Limerick, and had collected them from Bawnogue school.
A car was seen driving away from the house after the attack in Deerpark, and just over an hour later Jonathan was found dead.
He was discovered by three children – a 10-year-old and two 14-year-olds.
HSE Air Corps air ambulance, based at Costume Barracks, Athlone, was dispatched to the family home to take the boys to hospital, however it was quickly stood down when it became clear the twins were already dead.
Ambulance crews from Mallow were met by the horrific bloody scene.
Around 30 grieving family members and friends gathered outside the small cottage, which was sealed off last night.
Local priest Fr Tom Naughton said the tragedy had shaken the entire community.
He added: “I am shocked, I know the family myself. I have prayed with the family before. Obviously any family who would have experienced a tragedy of this nature would be devastated.
“This it is deeply upsetting for any community, especially for one as close-knit as we are. We will offer our support to them, the whole community will be behind them at this very difficult time.”
Friends of the family took to Facebook last night to pay their respects, with one saying: “God it’s a sin what happened them two twins today, may God help the family that lost two beautiful children, may God give them a good bed in heaven.”
Another posted: “RIP to the two twins TomTom & Paddy that were stabbed to death, so sad two innocent children.”
A distant relative of the two boys said: “It really is a sin. God only knows what pain Thomas and Ellen are going through waiting years for their twin boys to only have nine years and their lives were taken.”
Police confirmed in a statement last night: “Officers in Charleville, Co Cork are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of the bodies of two young boys in a house in Deerpark, Charleville shortly before 5pm on September 4.
“They were pronounced dead at the scene. The bodies remain at the scene and the area has been sealed off for technical examination, diversions are in place.
“The office of the State Pathologist has been notified and post mortemsare expected to be carried out."

Gesture Beta App by Microsoft for Windows Phone Users

Microsoft on Monday launched the Gestures Beta app for Windows Phone, showcasing the companys advances in the particular field. The app is available only for Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1.

The app lets users answer calls, put incoming calls on silent and do more tasks via simple gestures. Gesture Beta, which is sized less than 1MB on the Windows Phone Store, will however have limited functionalities on Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and Lumia 530, says the firm.

With the help of Gestures Beta app, Windows Phone users can pick up the handset and place it on their ears to answer the call; mute the mic during a call by placing the handset on a flat surface with display down; put the call on speaker by keeping the smartphone on flat surface placing the display up, and silent the incoming call by flipping the handset on a flat surface with display down.

It was reported that Microsofts future flagship handset codenamed McLaren will feature gesture support which will let users navigate on the phone without touching the display, and will be released on a range of US carriers later this year.

The sources close to Microsoft plans added that the new gesture support feature is being internally referred to as 3D Touch or Real Motion, and has been developed by Nokia.

Test Panel Samsung Galaxy tab 4 10 1 tested by three consumers – Tablets Magazine

Earlier this month we are launched with the Tablet Magazine test panel. For this we were looking for three enthusiastic readers who extended with a Samsung Galaxy TAB4 (10.1) wanted to go to work. Eventually Three participants were chosen and they have gone the past few weeks to work with Samsung’s latest mid tablet. In this article, they share their experiences.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (10.1)

The Samsung Galaxy tab 4 (10.1) is one of three Galaxy TAB4 tablets that the Korean manufacturer earlier this year brought to market.

This 10.1 “tablet you watch your favorite movies and series on the bench while the rest of the family to a football game on TV watching. Also read relax the most exciting books in bed and prepare the tastiest dishes in the kitchen to read. The recipes from your tablet More information on the Samsung GALAXY TAB4 (10.1) can be found on the Samsung website

When first starting, all major accounts, preferences and default apps set up in minutes. Setting is quite fast., I can imagine that a user no computer experience at a number of questions slipping and that a rapid manual gain can be. If you’re used to Android on a smartphone, is set wifi simple and this is what happened. tablet runs nice and smooth through the menus and screen looks beautiful.

The tablet feels handy and light.’s why I like a protective cover purchased. These are available in many species., colors and budgets, it has become one with which the tablet in portrait mode rotated (for example, AD and 24Kitchen) can be. After a day using drop me many finger smudges on the screen when it is turned off. A brille cloth or microfiber cloth is handy. Therefore I have a stylus for tablets purchased. The pin went quickly and certainly helps against oily smudges.

The start up procedure takes about 8 seconds when the tablet is turned off completely. If it is in sleep mode, then boot done in a second. Since the laptop can not beat that. The sound is good despite the small recesses. When playing a music video on YouTube, the sound is good and it can be put. Quite hard Watching example YouTube videos in HD on full screen is sharp and beautifully displayed despite maximum 1280 pixels. What would have liked for me as I am in full HD from the HD laptop screen.

The rear camera takes good photos, the tablet quickly processes. Outside Pictures are sharp and look good. Interior photos are also fine. I miss the photo app a button to focus. Using the screen If you want to zoom in on a detail is not possible to manually adjust the picture. Sharp That’s a shame. I would not all my photos with capture yourself I’m too attached to the compact camera and I find that a standard camera better hold.

I’m a fan become fast zoom, press the screen to slide with the fingers. There you are used to it. I also found out that there are a few sites where you can not be zoomed. Keep trying. Also with TV to watch the Ziggo app guide and another live TV does very well and is widely used. The convenience that the tablet so fit in your bag to the office and is much lighter than a laptop is a big plus. At the office, the tablet also tested a number of times.

I have the tablet taken twice to the office to test. Added value The WiFi present this was to do good and open agenda and PDF files from the Dropbox cloud works well. I suspected by the use of a tablet in the office that the amount of paper going to be printed. I have this tablet at the same time to open an app alongside iPad Air and could see that the iPad was a few seconds faster by opening the app. For me, however, the tablet quickly enough and works well to view drawings in PDF or as a diary of a call not to carry.

A short message typing is fine on the tablet, but if longer will hook you on the tablet quickly. The word prediction is turned off quickly. A tablet is perfect for your calendar and tasks in addition to the large display to post or at a concert to have.’s Agenda or questionnaire with you This paper can certainly be saved. Short notes with keywords to make is with Wunderlist and / or Evernote very convenient. To minimize the use of paper I myself look for a pen notes of key words directly to the tablet transfer and capture.

The size of 10.1-inch tablet meets the fine to take on holiday to check (weer.nl & amp gauge again; windfinder ), read (NU, NOS) and Beaches to read. excursion information news Reading a (cooking) book with Aldiko ebooks also works in fine. I do not have nice weather to test outside because the weather does not permit this, but could imagine that this does not work in the sun by the mirroring of the screen and the color of an epub book optimal.

So far I like the tablet very well. Galaxy TAB4 (10.1) is used a lot and still does the battery two days with it, which I find remarkably long, especially given the intensive use of new websites, email, YouTube and games. The tablet is so popular in our family, that I often have to share him. After several weeks of use, I’ve noticed that for the mail, news and uitzendinggemist tablet many uses. For more type of work is then caught the laptop.

The general impression is that the Galaxy TAB4 (10.1) is a good tablet that I would buy. Himself I would not mind extra memory with an SD card to add, which today is very affordable. Something that can be improved for me is the length of the charging cord. This is approximately 60 cm very short. It also strikes me that the compact plug becomes very hot. A protective case and a stylus are also highly recommended.

Danny Verhoeven

It is very interesting to indicate that I primarily use Apple products every day, and this is my first real experience as background with an Android tablet. Where I have some ‘cheap’ because of the plastic look like the Galaxy smartphones (S3 / 4) of this Samsung Galaxy TAB4 greatly surprised me. This tablet radiates quality of its construction and nice finished edges. The material at the back is used (sort of carbon / leather-like material) is very nice in the hand, and ensures that you can keep the tablet down properly. Firm The tablet I have both on the road and used several places in the house. Thus, this Galaxy TAB4 located with these special back on various surfaces, and is fully proven unscratched. A big plus so the hardware of this tablet.

Danny verhoeven 2 770x446 Test Panel: Samsung Galaxy tab 4 (10.1) tested by three consumer

The screen is very nice. Samsung has made good use of the size of this tablet, because you get a lot of screen for money. The bezels are thin, that makes watching a movie on this tablet is very pleasant on the entire screen. The colors are good, and through Netflix, you can watch your favorite movies in perfect crystal clear quality. However, you must keep in mind that when you go through this many multimedia tablet view the battery will hold. Approximately 5 to 6 hours full With average use, you can use the Galaxy TAB4 with ease using a full day. I also had in my apartment now and then some disturbances in the WiFi signal, and that interrupted the film sometimes.

A useful feature of this Galaxy Multi Window TAB4 would be. It works with standard (supplied) apps, but when I for example while watching TV on this tablet was going to post something on Twitter at MultiWindow this did not work. This is something that is very unfortunate. Additionally, this tablet seems rather with having to recharge., A second app in the MultiWindow some effort It’s just too slow for a good experience, so I’m also not used much

Finally, I also tested the camera of this tablet, and I can be brief about this: bad. A lot of noise on the camera, and even when there is sufficient light, he can not focus. Colors are not correct, for example the text of my review is not readable. On the camera, and after some small dots, I am very pleased with the Galaxy tab 4, and it is highly recommended at this price. A real quality tablet that you could put in that category. “Premium tablets

Tanja Kuijer

First, it must be said that the Galaxy TAB4 (10.1) a great device is a whole new experience in the series Galaxy Tabs. The tablet has a very nice bright screen, which is very pleasant to use. The pixels are not visible which is very pleasant for the eyes. The WiFi signal from the Samsung Galaxy TAB4 is excellent! Everywhere he’s on the wifi available channels, and the connection is immediately established, which is very pleasant in use both for business and private life.

The device is a smart guide function built received, which I find very useful. So you get a whole introduction by the device, how it works etc, and when necessary, the Galaxy TAB4 tips. What I personally find it a little minus is that the Samsung Galaxy tab 4 to charge for it is completely full (100%) for very long. This took me 4 hours from empty to full. If the Galaxy TAB4 once full you can still use quite long. It depends on your usage On calm days the battery saved the easy three days, on the days that I used it intensively I did one day with a full battery.

What an absolute plus is this Samsung galxy TAB4 is that he has two speakers, one on each side. This ensures optimum sound in movies, games, music and more! By taking very clear picture you just sit. Feeling in the movie or game The touch screen responds instantly and good. This I have missed so far on a tablet. Often miss especially in games just because the screen responds incorrectly. Galaxy Tab 4 this is totally not the case, the touch screen works great. Also very nice is that you can use with this tablet two apps simultaneously on your screen a great invention for multitasking on your TAB4.

Galaxy TAB4 Tanja 770x440 Test Panel: Samsung Galaxy tab 4 (10.1) tested by three consumer

The menu items I find very similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy tab3 and I personally feel pity. In a new series of tablets you expect some extra surprises that keep it exciting, but I could not discover. Well is starting at a very fast pace, which is working very pleasant. The tablet responds the way around very quickly. The Galaxy TAB4 has a great picture, which also makes the pictures and movies sharp. Also nice is that there is a second camera on it, also called a selfie camera, which mainly produces very nice beautiful images with beautiful large 10.1-inch screen.

The appearance of the tablet is very neat. He has a sleek design and is clearly thinner than the Galaxy tab3 tablets. Small downside I find the plastic finish on the back, which I personally prefer seen in aluminum, just like the edges of the tablet. I also miss an HDMI output, but that is the only thing I have to say about the appearance of this tablet. Also very nice is that the speakers are positioned so that you do not cover it with your hands when you use the tablet. In addition, the tablet has 16GB of storage which can be extended easily with a microSD card.

Pluses for me are the beautiful and clear picture, the fast start of the tablet, it is very well-functioning touch screen and the ability to use. two applications at the same time Downsides are the lack of HDMI connection, the long time for charging the tablet and the few innovative menu-tems.
