Belkin unveils new backlit QODE keyboards for the iPad Air

With an iPad even scheduled for tomorrow it may seem like an odd time to announce a new iPad Air keyboard but Belkin did just that. The new QODE Ultimate Pro keyboard offers an upgraded typing experience compared to the QODE Ultimate along with protection for your iPad.

The QODE Slim Style keyboard case features the same keyboard as the Ultimate Pro but the folio-style case is thinner and lighter.

The QODE Ultimate Pro keyboard is made of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy in two colors – Silver and Spay Gray – and features rubber bumpers to keep the tablet screen from touching the keys.

Users called for adjustable viewing angles and an easily removable case and Belkin delivered. The detachable design also enables both portrait and landscape positions for the tablet. More responsive keys was another thing users asked for so the new QODE keyboard features wider keys with bigger pitch. They are backlit to boot, users can select between three brightness levels.

The keyboard saves energy by turning on only when the tablet is attached and the case is open. It can also pair with two devices at once.
The QODE Slim Style keyboard can also pair with two devices but features a magnetic attachment for the tablet. The case can fold 180° so you can use your tablet as a tablet without removing the case. Color options are Blacktop and Gravel.

This one is also cheaper – the Belkin QODE Ultimate Pro is available right now at MSRP $150, while the Slim Style is $100. The two can be found in at Belkin.com, Amazon, Apple’s and AT&T’s stores.

Apple is most likely to announce its iPad Air on 2^nd of June at the time of WWDC event and they will make it available it October. The price is expected around $500, which is the current cost of the original iPad Air.

The New MacBook Air is Among Its Cheapest One

On Tuesday, Apple launched its two new devices, an 11-inch MacBook Air and an 13-inch MacBook Air, each having a capacity of either 128 GB or 256 GB storage.

11" & 13" Apple MacBook Air

According to AppleInsider, the 11-inch MacBook Air with 128 GB is priced at $899 which is the least expensive one that MacBook has ever offered.

These MacBook Airs are similar to the previous ones, but cost $100 less than its predecessors with more faster and newer processors. These laptops are currently available for purchase online at Apple stores.

Apple has a history of selling more than 4.1 million Macs within the first three months of 2014, a 5 percent increase compared to the similar period of last year.

Apple iPad Air 2 review

Another millimeter thinner, the new iPad Air 2 has a body thats even more befitting the ethereal moniker the iPad bears second year in a row. Outside of that little fact however, the changes may not be as easy to spot. And thats hardly a surprise.

Apples laser focus on making the best tablet there is keeps the entire tablet industry moving forward. But in their camp, large strides are usually followed by baby steps and not all products end up as the breakthroughs we would have liked to see. One things for sure though, Apple certainly likes to keep us on the edge of our seats when it comes to what their next gen devices would look or feel like.

This year, the Air 2 is hardly hitting like an airstrike, but it still does a mighty fine job of keeping up the alpha male image. True, besides the slimmer profile the changes are hard to see. A nice exception is the screen, where the specs may sound the same on paper, but improvements are visible to the naked eye in terms of reflectivity and outdoor legibility.

The iPad Air 2 also has a better camera, an 8 megapixel auto focus unit, for what its worth on a ten-incher, and as usual, Apples latest and greatest chipset to make sure things are running faster than ever before.

So that about sums up the noteworthy things the iPad Air 2 brings to the table. But heres the cheat sheet of its key specs anyway and what we didnt quite like at first glance.

Due to being slimmer, the iPad Air 2 has to make do with a smaller capacity battery. We guess, its no less than an engineering feat, that Apple is able to offer the same battery life as last years. But it also forces the question, why not keep last years battery and offer longer battery life instead. Apple has its ways, we guess, some of their decisions are hard to comprehend by us, mortal users.

Another change from last year is the intentional crippling of the iPad mini 3. The small and big iPads dont have the same internals anymore so if you are after the best iPad, theres no doubt which one that is. Seems like Apple didnt like the mini eating into the sales of the iPad Air.
