Connection from brain to brain! Now Thats Possible
Its a long held ambition of several scientists to achieve success in direct brain-to-brain communications. Recently the ambition has moved one step closer at an experiment held at University of Washington.
The experiment conducted at University of Washington featuring two volunteers over internet transmitting signals from one brain to another was a mere live example of the power of human brain.
In the latest tests it was shown clearly that the team was able to control the hand of the subject remotely by making one subject thinking of moving the hand to operate the game controller.
The researchers used a combination of two different non-evasive devices and softwares specifically designed for the task, to measure the transmitted brain signals in real time.
One volunteer has an electroencephalograph wired to its brains, to read the specific activity and send the signals via internet to the second volunteer, who is wired with transcranial magnetic stimulation to locate and control the hand movements.
Through this experiment, the researchers are very confident in bringing a new horizon in brain-to-brain interface.
