‘Samsung testing Android 4 4 3 for Samsung Galaxy S5 all’ – Android World

According to a source from the usually well-informed SamMobile Samsung is currently already working on testing the still unannounced Android 4.4.3. An update to the new version of KitKat appears less long after the official announcement to come.

Android 4.4.3

Google has not officially confirmed the existence of Android 4.4.3, but by putting a list of changes online by mistake, the company has already an indirect confirmation given. Android 4.4.3 is not a major update compared to Android 4.4.2, the version of Android KitKat now running on Samsung Galaxy S5. What Samsung itself so far will add to the new version of KitKat is not yet known.

SamMobile has its source informed that Samsung is currently testing an update to Android 4.4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 LTE-A, a variant that is not available in the Netherlands and Belgium. Currently the update is still in the ‘integration’ phase, which means that the proprietary software and interface are integrated in Android 4.4.3. It is expected that Samsung will update the display after Google has begun updating its Nexus devices to 4.4.3. Pass freely

For half year Google gives certain partners a preview of Android versions that will follow. The information, called Platform Development Kit, can be used to start the inte rendered own software in a new version Android, so that updates can follow an announcement faster. This should also ensure that new devices are equipped with the latest Android version that is available at that time.

Samsung KitKat for other devices

In the table below you can see that the update process of a number of other Samsung devices to Android 4.4.2 is on schedule. The table is again confirmed that the update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) for the Galaxy S III ‘unstable’ and an update for this phone to 4.4.2 (or 4.4.3) thus seems unlikely.

Availability

When can we expect a possible update to Android 4.4.3 is not yet certain. It seems likely that the update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 will follow in July. For other devices, it is difficult to predict if and when an update will follow. Samsung has the information in the data received by SamMobile not confirmed, but in the past proved to be the source of that website very reliable
