HTC Petra smartband coming in the US Specifications

HTC

Rumors confirm that HTC is working on a wearable technology, more specifically one smartband that could begin to market very soon in the American market, and perhaps be distributed in the future (but doubts there are) also in other continents like Europe.

The product would be called HTC Petra, we do not know if in the end this will be the name of the finished product for consumers, and we already know him a bit ‘of things in terms of hardware specifications:

  •  1.8-inch flexible display technology PMOLED and resolution 160 x 32 pixels, which would confirm that HTC Petra is not a smartwatch but one smartband;

  • Chipset dedicated ST Micro STL32L151;

  • Support Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, POGO Pin, usb

  • Certified IP57 (water resistant and therefore dirt in general)

  • MIL-STD-810G which is a certification against impact.

  • The internal battery according to the manufacturer should provide up to 3 days of autonomy continued.

 From the perspective of software HTC Petra will use a new operating system developed and optimized by the same company that will definitely Asian compatible with other Android devices (though from KitKat and up) and Apple (though from iOS 7 and up).

 The functionality of smartband in question will be interesting, since it is including the clock, alarm, various functions dedicated to fitness and sport, the stopwatch and the counter of hours of sleep; however, the display will show the most important notifications alerts of the smartphone and you can also remotely control the camera (maybe for taking group photos at a distance).

 HTC Petra, we repeat, will come in the colors gray-green, lime, black, blue and gray from the end of the third quarter of 2015; most likely it will be presented to the event smartband HTC the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, in conjunction with the presentation of future smartphone Android flagship HTC One M9 and M9 Plus.
