TEAC HR S101 audio system with USB for PC
The Japanese multinational Teac has presented a team that is a very interesting for those seeking a more quality speakers on your computer option. The new Teac HR-S101 consists of a small amplifier with USB sound card built in, plus two high-fidelity speakers two-way, all with stylish design to wear it on your desk without discomfort. In addition, the HR-S101 is equipped with a Bluetooth port, so that we can send music from your smartphone or tablet without connecting any cables.
As mentioned before, the Teac HR-S101 is a set of amplifier / distributor’s two stereo speakers. The amplifier is available in black or silver color, and is a compact, measuring 182 x 53 x 191 mm, and weighs 1.2 kilograms. The front panel is flanked by two handles or switches located one on each side we assume seeks to achieve an aspect of professional equipment. In this panel we find the usual controls on an amplifier as volume and input selector plus a large switch. The headphone output is also located in the front, shaped stereo minijack connector 3.5 mm.
This amplifier or main module of HR-S101 incorporates a sound card that plugs into the USB port on your computer. Thus, the audio transmission from this equipment is fully realized in digital, improving quality and fidelity of our music with respect to the answers we would get to the soundcard series. For conversion from digital to analog, the Teac HR-S101 uses a BurrBrown PCM1796 converter 192 kHz and 24 bits, and also has a “climber” digital audio to improve the quality of our files and songs in mp3 and even those that come from a CD.
In addition to the USB port, the central unit of HR-S101 is equipped with a Bluetooth wireless audio codec port aptX to transmit music from your smartphone, tablet or device without resorting to any cable connection. And if we connect any other player with quality analog line, we also have an auxiliary audio input stereo minijack input connector. Finally, the HR-S101 has a Class D amplifier that has an output of 26 watts + 26. Turning to the speakers, Teach HR-S101 incorporates two two-way speakers that can be finished in black or wood color, and host a woofer diameter of 70 mm (2.7 inches) for serious plus tweeted dome 20 mm soft. To compensate for their small size and enhance bass response, the speakers feature a bass-reflex port on the rear.
In terms of connectivity the Teac HR-S101, besides the USB port, offers two digital audio inputs in fiber optics, the analog audio stereo minijack connection, the load outputs for speakers, a preamp output connect a subwoofer and a headphone jack on the front panel with a power output of 100 + 100 milliwatts. In short, an interesting solution for playing music from your computer running away from the usual computer speakers. The new Teac HR-S101 is priced at 370 euros sales guidance.

Three new Audio Technica headphones
Audio Technica announced at the 2015 NAMM Show, three new headsets rather intended for professional use in the studio.
The ATH-M50xDG is a limited edition headphone studio pro / DJ circumaural ATH-M50. It takes the base of M50 and features a dark green and brown finish on the pads and headband. The atria always rotated 90 ° for easy one-ear listening.
Logically, this version would reproduce the same performance through its dynamic speakers 45 mm neodymium magnets and coils of aluminum covered with copper. The frequency response is announced from 15 Hz to 28 kHz and impedance of 38 Ohms; what use it even with less powerful sources.
The ATH-M50xDG will be provided with a carrying pouch, a straight cable 3 m and a spiral cable 1.2 m extendable to 3 m. It will be available in March 2015 at a price of € 215.
The second headset is a new benchmark: the ATH-M70x. It is a model still closed circumaural vocationally oriented, but high quality, designed to be more durable. It is equipped with earpieces that can be rotated 90 ° and removable pads. It embeds owner’s transducers 45 mm rare earth magnets and aluminum coils. The frequency band announced extending from 5 Hz to 40 kHz; the sensitivity is 97 dB and the impedance of 38 Ohms.
The ATH-M70x will come with a detachable cable with spiral cable 1.2 m extendable to 3 m, a straight cable 3 m and 1.2 m right cable. Its release is scheduled for February at a price of € 359.
Last but not least, the new flagship Audio Technica of the range will be the ATH-R70x, the first open professional helmet of the Japanese brand. Audio Technica here is clearly a public more demanding and did not skimp on resources. It is equipped with an exclusive 3D Wing arch to the brand, which is found on both gamer headsets, promise of a high quality comfort. Comfort reinforced by its light weight of 220 grams. The ATH-R70x comes with a detachable cable that has the particularity and the advantage of being connected to one of the two earpieces to choose from.
These open headphones are equipped with specific transducers of 45 mm and an aluminum housing with a honeycomb structure, promises a natural and accurate. Its frequency restitution is announced from 5 Hz to 40 kHz for a sensitivity of 98 dB. It should however be very demanding on because of its impedance of 470 Ohms. A dedicated amplifier is therefore required to take full advantage of the ATH-R70x.
No information was provided on the accompanying accessories. It will be sold at a price of € 420 from the month of May.
